Vijay Narayan

Vijay Narayan, from New Jersey, was initiated into vocal music at the age of 6 by Smt. Anita Krishna. His Carnatic foundation was strengthened under the tutelage of Smt. Rajarajeshwary Bhat. Currently, he is undergoing advanced training as a sishya of Sri. Ashvin Bhogendra. In addition, Vijay receives guidance from Sri Neyveli Santhanagopalan during his visits to the US and in aspects of laya from Sri. Suresh Ramachandran. He has won numerous awards at music competitions, including the Concert Competition prize at the Cleveland Aradhana, and has performed extensively in the US and Chennai (December Season). Vijay is currently a graduate student at UC Berkeley.
