Vignesh Gopal

Vignesh Gopal is a Freshman at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign studying Electircal Engineering. He has been under the tutelage of the renowned Vidwan Sri. Vittal Ramamurthy for the past 7 years learning the many nuances of carnatic violin in the Lalgudi Bani. Vignesh has accompanied several artists across the nation area and has won prizes in various competitions such as CMANA and the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana. Recently, Vignesh had the honor of playing alongside his Guru in Sringeri. For the past 3 years, he has also been learning advanced manodharma concepts from the esteemed Sri. Ashvin Bhogendra. Finally, Vignesh is also an active member of Yuva Sangeetha Lahiri, a group centered in New Jersey founded by Sri Suresh Ramachandran that serves to promote Carnatic music in North America.
