Keerthi Venkataramani
Keerthi is a sophomore at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
He started learning mridangam at the age of 6 from Sri. Suresh
Ramachandran of New Jersey, and for the past 6 years has been
undergoing advanced training from renowned mridanga vidwan
Melakkaveri Sri. Balaji.
Thanks to the blessings and support of his Gurus and elders, and
gifted with an inborn flair for percussion, Keerthi continues to
make steady progress over the years pursuing this difficult and
challenging fine art. With a keen ear for music, Keerthi aims to
provide percussion support with an all-round sensitivity to the music
as well as his fellow-musicians (vocalists and instrumentalists alike)
whenever he plays on stage. He had the privilege of accompanying
the renowned violinist Sri Vittal Ramamurthy at a concert in St.
Louis, Missouri, as well as Sri Sankaran Namboothiry in New
Jersey.
