Janani Iyer

Janani Purna-Pushkala Iyer aka Janani P. Iyer, is the disciple of  Padmabhushan, Sangeetha Sri P.S. Narayanaswamy, the torch-bearer of Semmangudi Bani. Starting her musical journey with Vasanthi Iyer in Chicago, she later trained under Vidwan Vaikam Jayachandran for some time. She then moved to Chennai to pursue academics and Carnatic Music from Shri PSN mama for last five years. AS part of Abaswaram  Ramhji's Issai Mazhalai group, she has performed many concerts under that banner as well as for other Sabhas and events. A 'Valaypatti Child Artist' Awardee in 2013,  TOP 5 finalists in the Prestigious Times Tyagaraja Awards 2015 and Tanishq Swarna Sangeetham – II, Janani has many such awards and accolades to her credit, from various Sabhas and musical institutions in India and abroad. Embellishing her musical experience, Janani was able to participate as a Faculty in Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana 2015. Her most recent performances include a Navaratri concert at the Parashakthi temple in Pontiac Michigan and her concert as part of the Youth Concert Series in the All Composers Day Festival organized by SVS Balaji Temple in Aurora IL.
