Shanti Bhavan is a groundbreaking nonprofit education provider. Seeking to break the cycle of generational poverty in Tamil Nadu, Shanti Bhavan serves children hailing from acutely impoverished rural villages and urban slums. Unlike many Indian organizations offering short-term educational programs, Shanti Bhavan goes well beyond basic literacy. Their educational intervention lasts from a child’s first day of school to their first day of work -- an 18 year duration. These children are provided with the highest standards of academic training and rigor in a variety of subjects and are trained to be global leaders and innovators in their future professions. Shanti Bhavan also provides 24/7 food, clothing, and shelter to each of its students. No other program in India offers this level of education, this length of intervention, or this amount of support completely free of charge. Shanti Bhavan’s success is unparalleled. 97% of graduates earn a college degree, ultimately finding work as entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers, and authors at multinational companies like Amazon, Goldman-Sachs and Mercedes-Benz.
The Need: Shanti Bhavan currently has one school operating at full capacity in Tamil Nadu. Plans are underway for the construction of a second school in Bangalore in 2018, and the effort requires monetary support. Your donation will enable Shanti Bhavan to extend its invaluable program to hundreds more underprivileged children. Please contribute generously to this wonderful cause!
