Charumathi Ramachandran, an eminent torchbearer of the GNB "baani". Janani has participated and won prizes in the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, and other competitions, and was a finalist in Carnatic Music Idol USA 2014. She has performed along-side her guru in the Chennai December music season, and has performed in solo and group concerts in the Dallas Fort-Worth area.
Music is only one of many artistic facets of Janani's life. She is also a keen student of bharathanatyam in the esteemed Kalakshetra bani, and learns from Smt. Gowri Ramaswamy, a disciple of the renowned Dhananjayans. She has been a student of Bharathanatyam and Carnatic music for about 10 years, and also enjoys listening to and watching other styles of music and dance. Janani is equally adept at rendering shlokas, thanks to the able guidance of her mother, and has won several shloka competitions. The training in these art forms has given her a deeper appreciation of the intimate connection between dance, music, and spirituality, and she is very grateful to her gurus and her community for their valuable encouragement and support.
